In a busy weekend at the WCEC, the U11 Western Prairie Thunder played host to the league playoff tournament for U11, and went a perfect 4-0, on their way to capturing the tournament.
The girls started off their tournament with a 3-1 over the Northwest Sharks Friday afternoon. Early on Saturday at 9:00 am, the team won against Estevan, 6-1. Then they defeated Weyburn 5-2 Saturday afternoon, to punch their ticket to the League Final game.
The rematch against the Northwest Sharks ended in shutout fashion for the U11 Western Prairie Thunder, winning 4-0 to take home the league championship.
The U11 Western Prairie Thunder would like to thank all the volunteers and officials who came out to help this weekend, including Kelly Gray and Elizabeth Boisjoli.
The U11 Lake Diefenbaker Thunder were also in Kindersley this weekend playing in the League Final Tournament on the B Side and finished with a 2- 2 record.
