Voters in Kindersley will elect six councillors and a mayor tomorrow evening.

In order to vote residents must meet the following requirements:
  • Must have lived in Kindersley for at least three consecutive months or be an owner of assessable land for at least three consecutive months immediately preceding Election Day.
  • Must have resided in Saskatchewan for six or more successive months.
  • Be a Canadian citizen.
  • Be over the age of 18.
  • Bring two pieces of valid non-Photo ID that shows proof of identity and proof of either residency or land ownership or one piece of valid Photo ID that shows proof of identity and proof or either residency or land ownership in Kindersley.
Acceptable Identification includes:
  • A valid Saskatchewan ID card issued by SGI or any motor licence issuer. (Available for $10 or free for seniors).
  • A valid Saskatchewan Driver's Licence. (If you still have a two-piece licence, make sure you have both pieces).
  • Any other valid government issued photo ID issued by a Canadian government whether federal, provincial or municipal, or an agency of that government, so long as it includes your name and address.
  • Utility bills and statements issued within six months of the date of the election.
  • Valid ID cards or certificates issued by the Canadian or Saskatchewan government, a Saskatchewan municipality or school division, a Saskatchewan Indian band, the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan or an agency of one of these entities.
  • Personal correspondence, benefit/contribution statements and tax/assessment notices issued by any of the above entities.
  • Bank/credit union cards, credit cards and statements.
    Personalized attestation of residence, letter of stay or admission form issued by a seniors or student residence, long term care or shelter facility.

Tom Morris and Rodney Perkins are the candidates running for mayor of Kindersley. Morris has been serving as the president of the Kindersley Chamber of Commerce, and Perkins is an accountant who has lived in Kindersley for decades.
