Jr. Klippers bounce back with win over Hounds
The Kindersley Jr. A Klippers and Notre Dame Hounds tangled in a Nutrien Division matchup last night at the WCEC. It was the Klippers who got on the board first in this one, with rookie Keenan Ingram getting his 14th of the season on the powerplay, with the assists going to Logan Linklater and Austin Osiowy. Kindersley double their lead before the period was out, as Logan Cox git his 8th of the season, with the helpers going to Kayden Ostrom and Braden Ivey. Heading into the second period, Notre Dame cut the lead in half in the first minute of play, with Alexander Hollands getting his 6rh of the season. Undeterred, the Klippers came back and regained the two-goal advantage halfway through the period, with Tylin Hilbig getting his 13th of the season, with the assists going to brother Ethan and Logan Cox. Kindersley kept coming with Keenan Ingram getting his second of the night, with the lone assist going to first overall pick in this past year's SJHL Draft Jaxon Herchak, in his first game with the team to make the score 4-1. The third period saw another first minute goal by the Hounds, this time by Matteo Speranza, his 6th of the season, to make the score 4-2. The goal did not rattle the Klippers though, as they held Notre Dame at bay after that and then got a late goal from Logan Cox, after he was awarded a penalty shot and beat Johann Tremblay-Klau 1-on-1 to make the score 5-2. That is the way things ended, as Kindersley ended their two-game losing streak. Kindersley will now shift their focus to the Viterra Division, as the Melville Millionaires will be in Kindersley Friday, and the Estevan Bruins will be in town Saturday. Both games will be at 7:30 pm. Stay up to date with local news, sports and weather by downloading the WCO app HERE.
